Years at Riverside Prep: 4 (3 years teaching Kindergarten, 1 teaching 3rd grade)
1. What got you into teaching? I've always loved working with kids from babysitting to my classroom observations in college, so I knew that this was the job for me!
2. What do you like most about teaching at Riverside Prep? I love the teachers that I work with and the families. It is so awesome to have siblings or cousins throughout the years.
3. What do you like most about teaching the grade level you teach? What's the biggest challenge? I love 3rd grade because they are so independent and you can see the wheels start and the lightbulb moments when they start to understand the more advanced concepts. The biggest challenge is teaching myself all of the 3rd grade math after coming from kindergarten.
4. What's your favorite moment in teaching? My favorite moments are when a student finally gets something we've been working on and they can move to doing it on their own.
5. What does it mean to be the Elementary School Teacher of the Month? It means a lot, because it feels so nice to be recognized for my work by my admin.
