Principal's Message

It is an incredible honor to serve as the principal of RP as we celebrate our 20th anniversary—a milestone that represents two decades of learning, growth, relationships, and memories. As I begin my 19th year in education and my fourth year at RP, I continue to feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead such a special school community. I am proud of all that RP has accomplished and even more excited about what lies ahead. This year, our work is centered around creating a school experience where every student feels a true sense of belonging, is empowered to grow and discover their potential, and is inspired to achieve. We want every student who walks through our doors to know they are valued, capable, and supported in becoming their very best.

At RP, we believe that educating students means developing the whole child. Academic excellence is at the center of our mission, but student success extends beyond grades and test scores. We are committed to creating an environment where students are challenged academically while also developing confidence, character, curiosity, resilience, and a genuine love of learning. We strive to provide experiences that allow every student to discover their talents, develop meaningful relationships, and feel supported as they grow. Most importantly, we want our students to leave RP knowing they were valued, encouraged, and prepared to take their next steps with confidence.

Our success would not be possible without the extraordinary partnership among our families, staff, and community. I deeply value the trust our families place in us each day and recognize the important role they play in their children’s education. I am equally proud of our dedicated teachers and staff members who consistently put students first. Their commitment, compassion, and high expectations help make RP a positive, welcoming, and memorable place for students. Together, we share the responsibility of creating a school culture where students feel safe to take risks, inspired to learn, and supported in becoming the very best versions of themselves.

As we honor RP’s first 20 years, I am proud to celebrate the traditions and accomplishments that have shaped our school while looking forward to the future we will continue building together. This anniversary is not only a celebration of where we have been, but also a reminder of the responsibility and opportunity we have to build upon RP’s legacy of excellence. I am incredibly proud to serve as principal during this historic year and grateful to be part of a community that believes so strongly in its students. As we move forward together, we remain committed to creating a place where every student can Belong, where they are Empowered to grow and discover their potential, and where they are inspired to Achieve. Here’s to celebrating 20 years of RP and to the many years of excellence, growth, and unforgettable memories still to come.

District Dyslexia Screener

Dear Parent/Guardian,
In alignment with Senate Bill 114, Oro Grande School District will be administering a Universal
Screener for Dyslexia to all students in grades Kinder, 1st and 2nd Grade between October 1, 2025 –
November 7, 2025.
The purpose of this screener is to identify potential risk factors for dyslexia early so that students can
receive appropriate support to strengthen their reading and language skills. This is not a diagnostic
test but rather a tool to provide valuable information about your child’s foundational literacy
development.
The screener will focus on early reading skills, which research has shown to be important indicators of
future reading success. These areas may include:

Phonological and phonemic awareness (recognizing and working with sounds in spoken words)
Alphabet knowledge and letter-sound correspondence
Rapid naming skills
Decoding and word recognition
Oral reading fluency
Once the assessment window closes, results will be reviewed by your child’s teacher and site support
staff. Parents will receive a report of your child’s screener result within 45 days. For more information

If you do not want your child to participate in the Universal Screener for Dyslexia, please notify your
child’s school office in writing by September 30, 2025. Students who opt out will continue to receive
high-quality instruction and literacy support available to all students.
