1. What got you into teaching? I took a trip to Africa in high school and volunteered at an elementary school while I was there. I realized that I loved working with the kids and learning from them, so I decided to study education in college.
2. What do you like most about teaching at Riverside Prep? I love the diverse group of students and supportive families. I also love working with the other amazing teachers. I have learned so much from them!
3. What do you like most about teaching the grade level you teach? What's the biggest challenge? I love the independence of fifth graders and their creativity. The most challenging part is learning all the new ways that they are doing math!
4. What's your favorite moment in teaching? My favorite moments in teaching happen when my students get really excited about solving a problem. I also love all the little funny things that happen throughout the day.
5. What does it mean to be the Elementary School Teacher of the Month? I really appreciated being recognized by my administration and it means a lot to be the Teacher of the Month.
