1. What subject/class do you teach? I teach second grade. I teach reading, writing, math, science and social studies.
2. How long have you been teaching at Riverside Prep? This is my 22nd year in the Oro Grande School District. I first taught in the Oro Grande Elementary School, and then it became Riverside Prep.
3. What got you into teaching? I always knew ever since I was a little girl that I wanted to be a teacher. It was my childhood dream, I would put all my dolls and stuffed animals on the floor in my bedroom and pretend to play school. They were my students and I would decorate my bedroom as if it was a classroom.
4. What are some of the things you like most about working at Riverside Prep? I enjoy seeing the motivation and excitement that the students bring to the classroom. It's wonderful to see the students' eagerness to be at RP, to learn and to succeed!
5. What does it mean to be the Elementary School Teacher of the Month? It's quite an honor to receive this award. It means a lot to me and makes me feel that what I am doing is making a difference in the lives of my students at RP.
