We are pleased to inform you that our schools will implement a new provision available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

What does this mean for you and your child(ren)?

Regardless of income level, all enrolled students in our school district are eligible to receive a healthy school breakfast and lunch at no charge each day. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) can participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.

While a meal application is not required to receive meal benefits, each household is encouraged to submit the Alternate Income form to ensure the maximum funding is available for each of our schools and classrooms.

The CEP is a new alternative to the traditional meal application process associated with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. CEP alleviates the burden on families by eliminating household applications while helping schools reduce costs associated with collecting and processing those applications.

For more information about CEP, please visit USDA.gov/school-meals/communityeligibility-provision

"As our nation faces the ongoing effects of a worldwide pandemic, COVID-19 continues to disrupt manufacturing, supply, and distribution chains across many industries. School Nutrition Programs all over the country are experiencing these unprecedented realities of food, equipment, and supply shortages resulting in limited inventory that is essential for serving a variety of healthy foods and offering nutritious school meals.

Due to these circumstances, last-minute menu changes and product substitutions may occur. Be assured meals will remain balanced and healthy. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our best to meet the needs of your children."
